Historical Craftsman Kitchen Remodel in Vickery Place
Award-Winning Project

Homeowner Desired Outcome
Our client came to Blackline Renovations with a need to restore their early 20th-century home to its original grandeur while adding the creature comforts that come with 21st-century living. Upon purchasing their home a decade earlier, the homeowners knew they would be undertaking a significant renovation. They spent many years undertaking the remodeling themselves before deciding to hire a professional.
OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION
As part of a whole house remodel, to include a new master bathroom and hall bath remodel, family and dining room, and laundry room remodel, this kitchen renovation started with a clear design plan, incorporating the homeowners’ design style preferences and functional needs. Although zoning requirements limited modifications to the original footprint of the home, Blackline Renovations integrated an unused breakfast nook into the new kitchen layout to solve the homeowner’s need for storage and countertop space.
All of the materials were selected with form and function in mind—aesthetics, practicality, durability, safety, etc. Classic details that brought this kitchen back to life included beautiful custom inset cabinets with shaker style doors, a white subway tile backsplash, and soapstone countertops. Gorgeous pine floors were complimented by the white beadboard ceiling, farmhouse sink, period lighting, and a black Bertazzoni heritage stove.
