Homeowner Desired Outcome

These Dallas homeowners purchased their home on Bryn Mawr Drive to be next door to their son and his family. The home was dated, but the bones of the structure were good. It also came with a pool. The homeowners were looking to create a space that they could be comfortable staying in when they came to visit, and could also to be used by their son and his family when they weren’t there.

OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION

To meet this couple’s requirements, a complete redesign of the home’s kitchen, living space, and entryway were necessary. To improve the home’s energy efficiency, we replaced all of the windows and exterior doors and added all new insulation. As a result, the new windows flooded the entire space with natural light.

Blackline Renovations added a vaulted ceiling in the entryway, living room, and dining space to make the space feel more open and airy. We also added new hardwood flooring throughout, which created a cohesive, consistent look that felt timeless.

The redesigned L-shaped kitchen included plenty of countertop space for food prep and entertaining, plus a new pass-through bar top that comfortably seats three. Additional luxury features included beautiful, custom shaker-style white cabinets designed with plenty of storage, and sleek stainless steel appliances, including a Wolf Range and hood vent.
