Homeowner Desired Outcome

The 80-year-old kitchen in this Highland Park home had never been updated! The homeowners were more than ready to have Blackline help them bring their small, dark, and poorly laid out kitchen into the 21st Century.
 

OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION

This kitchen renovation started with a complete gut job, taking the current space down to the studs. Removing walls allowed us to combine the existing kitchen and dining room to create a larger, more functional kitchen. An adjacent master closet was reconfigured, enabling us to increase the width of the space to accommodate an oversize island topped in gorgeous white Calacatta Quartzite. Ceiling height custom cabinetry maximized storage and concealed a nearby laundry area.

To maximize natural light, a stunning custom glass and steel door system was installed in the back wall that leads to the backyard, making summertime entertaining a breeze. A functional homework/office station was included in the design layout, along with plenty of under cabinet lighting.

Other highlights of this beautiful kitchen renovation include two chalk-board paint panels perfect for featuring little one’s art masterpieces, Euclid Island Pendants, a Franke Farmhouse Fireclay sink, Sub Zero refrigerator, and Wolf Range.
