Preston Hollow Game Room & Powder Bath Renovation

Homeowner Desired Outcome

These Preston Hollow homeowners had an existing media or theater room with a stepped floor and a separate adjoining game room. To fully utilize their downstairs space, the homeowners wanted to create one large game room, add a powder bathroom for guests, and they didn’t want to modify any exterior walls. Ultimately, their goal was to make the entertainment space more suitable to their needs while adding resale value to the home.

Our Creative Solution

We started by raising the floor in the media room so that the floors for both adjoining rooms were at the same level. Then, we closed off the entryway to the old media room, so that the new larger room had a single point of entry. This new partitioned off area was reconfigured to include a large game closet, vestibule with built-in storage, and a powder bathroom.

Features of the new game room include a casual TV area, pool table, and a built-in bar. The hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, base molding, door casing, and crown molding were installed to match the existing finishes throughout the house making the newly remodeled space feel as if it were always there.
