Blackline Renovations was born from a passion for craftsmanship and a desire to make a meaningful impact. With a degree in construction management and ten years of commercial project management experience, founder Chris Black decided to shift to residential remodeling, recognizing an opportunity to oversee projects from start to finish and significantly influence both the final quality and homeowners’ satisfaction.
Filling a Gap in the Remodeling Industry
Chris established Blackline Renovations to address perceived shortcomings in the residential remodeling industry. Built on principles of efficiency, thoroughness, and responsibility, the company quickly adopted a full-service, design-build approach, managing every stage of a remodel from design to construction to ensure a seamless, professional experience for homeowners.
A Name That Reflects Professionalism and Purpose
Originally launched as CB Construction, the name served as a placeholder that never fully resonated with the company’s mission. In 2018, Chris, with the help of his wife, rebranded the business as Blackline Renovations during a road trip, inspired by the ideas of clarity, precision, and design. The name ‘Blackline’ incorporates the family name and symbolizes the design process—bringing concepts to life with clean, bold lines on paper. Its simplicity and professionalism align seamlessly with the company’s identity, while ‘Renovations’ encapsulates its focus on transforming homes from design through construction.

Chris Black
President & Owner
Chris Black, CR, CGP, began his career in carpentry, honing his skills by framing homes during the summers of his early years. Before founding Blackline Renovations, he spent a decade managing projects at several prominent commercial construction firms, gaining invaluable experience in construction and project management.
Recognizing the limitations of commercial construction in delivering personalized oversight and client satisfaction, Chris seized the opportunity to take full control of remodeling projects. By overseeing every phase—from design and planning to project management and supervising production—he created a seamless process that delivers exceptional quality for homeowners.
In the early days, Chris personally managed every detail, developing efficient systems and fine-tuning his approach to remodeling. Today, he leads a dedicated team, ensuring every project reflects his commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement. Chris remains deeply involved, overseeing construction while upholding the processes and standards that define Blackline Renovations’ excellence.
In his free time, Chris enjoys traveling with his wife, Jenifer Wiley, an interior designer and owner of J Wiley Designs, and spending time with his friends. Like any Atlanta native, he is also a die-hard Braves fan.
