Give in to spring fever with a fun weekend antiquing adventure, painting project or patio spruce-up. And whatever the weather, you can always feed your need to dig your hands in the dirt by starting some seeds indoors. Seven could-dos for your weekend, straight ahead.
1. Go antiquing. If you’re in Texas, make your way to Round Top for antiques week, which is happening April 2 to 7.
Not in Texas? Search local listings for an antiques fair or flea market near you, or hit the road in search of antiques shops and estate sales. For the best chance of success, go with an idea of what you’re looking for, but stay open to possibilities — unearthing unexpected treasures is part of what makes antiquing fun.
3. Clean windows. Let the spring light in! Get your windows spotlessly clean inside (and outside, if you’re up for it) and then reward yourself with a great book and a clear view.
4. Plan some spring meals. Gather your favorite cookbooks, pour yourself a cup of tea and start brainstorming dinner ideas. Getting a few weeks’ worth of meal ideas on the schedule means you can use less brainpower on those busy weeknights.
