Traditional Formal Living Room Remodel in Preston Hollow, Dallas TX

Homeowner Desired Outcome

After completing an interior remodel and 200 sf room addition with Blackline Renovations, to include a kitchen remodel, guest bath, and laundry/mudroom renovation, these Dallas homeowners wanted to update the finishes in their formal living room and close off the space from the rest of the home.

Our Creative Solution

To achieve the look our clients wanted, Blackline Renovations started by removing the original fireplace mantle, hearth, and firebrick. We then reconfigured the fireplace with new split firebrick in a herringbone pattern. The custom stone mantle and hearth were designed to flush with the wood flooring, adding a level of sophistication and elegance to the space with its traditional, clean lines. High-end recessed lighting was installed throughout the room to provide general lighting and highlight the homeowners’ custom artwork collection. Three wall sconces flanked the large wall paintings hung opposite the window, creating extra illumination and a balance to the space. Last but not least, a custom pair of large French doors were designed into the entry, providing the homeowners an option for privacy.

As part of a separate remodel, these homeowners also hired Blackline Renovations to complete a boys bath remodel.
